J Rice, My New-Found Man!

Posted by iAMjett™ 3:14 AM, under | No comments

I'm more and more getting in love with the song, pretty much more with this male cover I just discovered. Thanks to this. You're absolutely adding a different kick to my new Beyonce favorite! ^_^

FYI: This second single (Best Thing I Never Had) from Beyonce's fourth solo platter '4' album is still set to be released come June 28, 2011!

J Rice grew up listening to artists like Take 6, Boyz II Men, Brian Mcknight, Wynton Marsalis, Kenny G and many other R&B/Jazz greats. He lived in a simple house where his parents taught him to work for everything he wanted. At about age 11 he was running a paper route to pay for his first trumpet. It was obvious early on that J was blessed with a gift as he would move up through the ranks of his jr high .Later in High School he started taking his singing seriously and built his own studio in his bedroom. Equipment was expensive so he had to improvise with dental floss stapled to the ceiling holding up the mic and a cool whip lid with a hole in it and nylons stretched across for the spit guard. He released two independent albums The Intro and So Close but felt he needed to be closer to where everything happens so he packed everything he could, and drove across the country to New York City from his home in Tacoma, Washington. When he arrived in NY, he immediately started meeting with any writers/producers he could, but none seemed to be the right fit. J recently teamed up with producers Phantom Boyz, and Relentless Management. He continues to write and grow as an artist and songwriter. On the underground level he is sitting on the tops of the charts on soundclick.com/jrice with nearly 2,000,000 plays and 60,000 hits a month. http://www.last.fm/music/J+Rice

A Father to his son...

Posted by iAMjett™ 7:16 PM, under | No comments

I was humbled and touched in today's early morn mass, especially when Father Dan imparted to us a letter/prayer done by Douglas Macarthur for his son Arthur IV a couple of decades ago, in relation to today's observance of Father's Day.

And the letter he wrote is as follows:

"Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak; and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.

Build me a son whose wishes will not take the place of deeds; a son who will know Thee -- and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge.

Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let him learn to stand up in the storm; here let him learn compassion for those who fail.

Build me a son whose heart will be clear, whose goal will be high, a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men, one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past.

And after all these thing are his, add, I pray, enough of a sense of humour, so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself too seriously.

Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of true greatness, the open mind of true wisdom and the meekness of true strength.

Then I, his father, will dare to whisper, "I have not lived in vain!"

What the!

June 15, 2011, CDO. Local news has it just now that law enforcers are dismayed upon inspecting major business establishments that answered their call of putting up CCTVs for the prevalent robbery going on around the city; who wouldn't be disappointed with CCTVs installed that don't come along with video recording system. BOANG! LOL

Si Nok Nok, mamita's guinea pig slash alarm clock because he squeaks a lot at early morns. :D

My fave green energy drink, exposed! Don't you just love it when something green makes you active and alive, other than green jokes?^_^^_^

My green thumb at work. Yesiree, it may not be that obvious in my personality at first glance but I love to grow plants since I can remember. This one is bonsai inspired.

Jolie Gears Up To Play Cleopatra

Posted by iAMjett™ 5:23 PM, under | No comments

We've been hearing hear-says about Angie's taking the role of Cleopatra in a movie remake of the same title (much to some people’s dismay), and yes there has been progress going on with it.

35-year-old Jolie is anxious to play the role of the Queen of the Nile from which Elizabeth Taylor first took in 1963. She said to the Telegraph that is not going to be a sexy role, they want to show a different side of this icon of beauty.

During Taylor’s iteration of the role which was adapted from a novel by Stacy Schiff entitled Cleopatra: A Life, Taylor's real-life partner Richard Burton also portrayed the role of Marc Antony. With Angie's upcoming redo, fans alike are made to wonder if the producers have Brad Pitt in mind to take over the role for the remake.

On a side note, I couldn't help but hope that creators of this remake will have a slight glitch in Jolie's outfit, like letting her wear gladiator stilettos as she looks uber hot on it! =P

It was made aware that Friendster users have only until May 31 to save their account containing pictures, testimonials, and blogs as the social network is bound to do major reformat come tomorrow, June 1, 2011.

Friendster is considered to be the pioneer social networking site that was made fully available to the public in 2002. Makers of Friendster are in high hopes that the new and improved version will bring about a new sensation as it will be the new social networking niche where people will not only meet new friends but play games and enjoy music with them as well.

The help forum of Friendster
further announced: "Your Friendster account will not be deleted. You will still have the same email login and password in the new Friendster. Also, your list of friends will be preserved, along with your basic profile information. However, all the photos, messages, comments, testimonials, shoutouts, blogs, forums and groups that you may have now will no longer be part of your account by May 31, 2011," .

I'm no camera material but camwhoring has been an obsessive past-time recently, and it just didn't occur to me that these shots I've been taking will be put to good use until a client messaged me for a photo editing job.

Not really an expert of doing photo edits but modesty aside, my keen eye to details, inclination to arts and a tasteful sense just made it easy and fun for me to do.

Randomly done!

Posted by iAMjett™ 5:32 PM, under , | No comments

Good morning Thursday! Back to virtual reality and back to my crib. Had fun helping a long lost but recently found friend run some errands (to and fro SM multiples times because somebody just can't make up his mind. LOL) yesterday. Ended the day still @ SM loafing over 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' on 3D.

I don't know if this fourth installment of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series is missing out a few good casts in it or what, but, I just miss seeing Orlando Bloom and Heather Joan Graham in this acclaimed Walt Disney motion picture. Otherwise, Johnny Depp is still gorgeously amazing being the good old smart-arse Capt. Jack Sparrow with his usual crazy antics and lines.

Penelope Cruz playing as Angelica added twist to the film too with her ageless allure, who joined Depp in search for the Fountain of Youth. And not to mention the exciting idea of Vamp Mermaids (damn, that was just refreshing, talking about the burgeoning vamp series and movies (LOL)). I was even more hooked to the side-love-story between the mermaid played by Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey who was named Syrena and hottie Sam Claflin, a stalwart missionary in the flick.

Good old veteran actors like Geoffrey Rush (playing still as Captain Hector Barbossa who's more remembered in The Curse of the Black Pearl sequel) and Ian McShane playing as Edward "Blackbeard" Teach also managed to keep the whole story line compressed with action-filled scenes.

News and Views: iAMjett™ is Loving the PLDT myDsl Watchpad Technology

Posted by iAMjett™ 1:52 AM, under , | No comments

Who would've thought that watching TV while doing your usual stuff in  your computer (social networking, blogging, etc.) can be done in just one screen. Now I'm freed from the hassles of turning my neck left and right every time I'm in front of the pc. Thanks to PLDT myDSL Watchpad.

Taking a notch higher of watching NatGeo and many other cable channels while on your same old, same old FB-ing routine, any time at any given day. ^_^

Keep yourself abreast of some of the latest music videos in the music scene at Channel [V] while keeping your tweets to date (and yes, both in one screen!).

Life can't get any better than this.

Watching TV while news feeding your FB status updates and tweeting what's in and what's not can easily be done by integrating your social networking accounts from Facebook or Twitter, even Multiply and Friendster.

Apart from their Free-to-Air TV which is exclusively from TV5 and 15 cable channels to choose from, the PLDT myDsl Watchpad subscription also shows 'Featured Flicks' you can watch free-of-charge. Amongst their current 'Featured Flicks' are indie films Culdesac, Kinatay, Lola, Numbalikdiwa, et al.
