Jolie Gears Up To Play Cleopatra

Posted by iAMjett™ 5:23 PM, under | No comments

We've been hearing hear-says about Angie's taking the role of Cleopatra in a movie remake of the same title (much to some people’s dismay), and yes there has been progress going on with it.

35-year-old Jolie is anxious to play the role of the Queen of the Nile from which Elizabeth Taylor first took in 1963. She said to the Telegraph that is not going to be a sexy role, they want to show a different side of this icon of beauty.

During Taylor’s iteration of the role which was adapted from a novel by Stacy Schiff entitled Cleopatra: A Life, Taylor's real-life partner Richard Burton also portrayed the role of Marc Antony. With Angie's upcoming redo, fans alike are made to wonder if the producers have Brad Pitt in mind to take over the role for the remake.

On a side note, I couldn't help but hope that creators of this remake will have a slight glitch in Jolie's outfit, like letting her wear gladiator stilettos as she looks uber hot on it! =P

It was made aware that Friendster users have only until May 31 to save their account containing pictures, testimonials, and blogs as the social network is bound to do major reformat come tomorrow, June 1, 2011.

Friendster is considered to be the pioneer social networking site that was made fully available to the public in 2002. Makers of Friendster are in high hopes that the new and improved version will bring about a new sensation as it will be the new social networking niche where people will not only meet new friends but play games and enjoy music with them as well.

The help forum of Friendster
further announced: "Your Friendster account will not be deleted. You will still have the same email login and password in the new Friendster. Also, your list of friends will be preserved, along with your basic profile information. However, all the photos, messages, comments, testimonials, shoutouts, blogs, forums and groups that you may have now will no longer be part of your account by May 31, 2011," .

I'm no camera material but camwhoring has been an obsessive past-time recently, and it just didn't occur to me that these shots I've been taking will be put to good use until a client messaged me for a photo editing job.

Not really an expert of doing photo edits but modesty aside, my keen eye to details, inclination to arts and a tasteful sense just made it easy and fun for me to do.

Randomly done!

Posted by iAMjett™ 5:32 PM, under , | No comments

Good morning Thursday! Back to virtual reality and back to my crib. Had fun helping a long lost but recently found friend run some errands (to and fro SM multiples times because somebody just can't make up his mind. LOL) yesterday. Ended the day still @ SM loafing over 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' on 3D.

I don't know if this fourth installment of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series is missing out a few good casts in it or what, but, I just miss seeing Orlando Bloom and Heather Joan Graham in this acclaimed Walt Disney motion picture. Otherwise, Johnny Depp is still gorgeously amazing being the good old smart-arse Capt. Jack Sparrow with his usual crazy antics and lines.

Penelope Cruz playing as Angelica added twist to the film too with her ageless allure, who joined Depp in search for the Fountain of Youth. And not to mention the exciting idea of Vamp Mermaids (damn, that was just refreshing, talking about the burgeoning vamp series and movies (LOL)). I was even more hooked to the side-love-story between the mermaid played by Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey who was named Syrena and hottie Sam Claflin, a stalwart missionary in the flick.

Good old veteran actors like Geoffrey Rush (playing still as Captain Hector Barbossa who's more remembered in The Curse of the Black Pearl sequel) and Ian McShane playing as Edward "Blackbeard" Teach also managed to keep the whole story line compressed with action-filled scenes.

News and Views: iAMjett™ is Loving the PLDT myDsl Watchpad Technology

Posted by iAMjett™ 1:52 AM, under , | No comments

Who would've thought that watching TV while doing your usual stuff in  your computer (social networking, blogging, etc.) can be done in just one screen. Now I'm freed from the hassles of turning my neck left and right every time I'm in front of the pc. Thanks to PLDT myDSL Watchpad.

Taking a notch higher of watching NatGeo and many other cable channels while on your same old, same old FB-ing routine, any time at any given day. ^_^

Keep yourself abreast of some of the latest music videos in the music scene at Channel [V] while keeping your tweets to date (and yes, both in one screen!).

Life can't get any better than this.

Watching TV while news feeding your FB status updates and tweeting what's in and what's not can easily be done by integrating your social networking accounts from Facebook or Twitter, even Multiply and Friendster.

Apart from their Free-to-Air TV which is exclusively from TV5 and 15 cable channels to choose from, the PLDT myDsl Watchpad subscription also shows 'Featured Flicks' you can watch free-of-charge. Amongst their current 'Featured Flicks' are indie films Culdesac, Kinatay, Lola, Numbalikdiwa, et al.

It Is Never Too Late

Posted by iAMjett™ 11:03 PM, under | No comments

To slow down. To see where you’re going. To notice the stones on the road. To appreciate the beauty of sunlight. To feel the wind on your hair.

To say you love somebody, or that you need someone. To know what a good job others have done for you or that they look good. To tell them that you enjoy their company. To express that they make you happy. To say that you’re sorry for being impatient.

Most often than not, work and my unsociable tendencies hold me back keeping me away from important dates. You had to get me a last-minute replacement as one of your groom’s men on your wedding. On your first-born’s baptism, he was too young to remember that his ninong barely made it to the reception. Not to count all the cancelled dates because my work kept and my shallow tendencies kept me pre-occupied.

I remember your jokes. You said that if it was possible to clone me, you wouldn’t mind spending a fortune just to replicate the same, exact me.

And your random metaphoric words that exaggerate, “If you were God, the sun would not shine until 10:00 a.m. nor sit until 12:00 midnight!”

“There would be no rain until December because your birthday falls in August!”

“Night would not come until you finish your work!”

“If a computer could talk, you would be married to one.”

I am glad I am not late for you now. I realize you’ve given me strength and I want you to know that. You’ve inspired me and I want to tell you this personally. I want to hug you and tell you how much I love you. Were it not too late.

Today is your burial.

Beyonce "Run The World[Girls]" MV World Premiere

Posted by iAMjett™ 11:10 PM, under , | No comments

The intensely anticipated world premier of the official music video of Beyonce's latest hit 'Run The World(Girls)' was sneak peeked upon my watching of today's IDOL10 show (May 18 - EST).  Further streaming of this music video is at www.beyonceonline.com.

Icon and bootilicious Beyonce Knowles no doubt nailed it again with this new dance hit, with an impeccably done music video which has been rocking a huge fan base of their anxiety of wait.

From her becoming a Destiny's Child to her soon-after being a household name as Beyonce alone, her up-beat danceable hits have always been leaving a strong recall to me; even during the hiatus of Destiny's Child that eventually signaled a solo career and a release of her first solo album entitled Dangerously in Love (2003), Beyonce never got out of the music scenes which eventually made her one of the most sought after and influential artists in the music industry (From Wikipedia.com: June 2010, Knowles was ranked second on Forbes list of the 100 Most Powerful and Influential celebrities in the world). Not long after, she has also proven her worth in acting as she landed one of the major roles in the musical movie hit Dreamgirls(2006), from which earned her two Golden Globe nominations.

This latest music video of hers once again hailed her amongst popular co-artists like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Britney Spears, et al. Without a doubt, this is another killer music video hit of Beyonce. Though can't help to notice that there were some costumes worn by Beyonce in the video that made her look like Lady G, but  heck, who cares. Beyonce's still bootiliciously unique!

A sedentary lifestyle from my 4 –year conquer of Cebu made me to instantaneously check if my love MB (code name for my not-so-crappy mountain bike) is still perfectly in shape upon stepping back in to my original refuge (HOME); and yup, it’s still A-okay!

<--- (Upper Macasandig, CDO) From the city proper, a more or less 3KM pedal pushing with slopey terrains; you'll definitely get those feet and legs working at their best. Nice! More to come.

When I finally came back home early this year (perhaps for good), I made it a goal to get back to my actively-driven lifestyle (thus cues for a lot of catching up to do on the matter). Though I have fickle-mind tendencies, so far I’m doing well in not being off the chart  as I’m keeping a good schedule of my pedal-pushing activity every now and then.

Life’s seeming tightness in Cebu has been taxing to my lifestyle that I couldn’t miss this opportunity not to redeem what I used to be doing in terms of being physically active.

Alongside keeping a good schedule of MB-ing , pulling weights following my own custom-fit routine has also been a great way of keeping my self in shape whilst at home; talk about tension releasing too. LOL

Body Shots

Posted by iAMjett™ 6:14 AM, under ,, | No comments

As per URBANdictionary.com, a body shot is a sexual way of doing shots of tequila. Your lime is held in your partner's mouth and the salt put on a body part (stomach, neck, breasts, etc). You lick the salt off of them, take your shot and then eat the lime out of their mouth.

I'm a social drinker but I am not a big fan of Tequila which obviously makes me a noob for a body shot if dared to, but every time my shuffle plays this song, it always feels like I'm compelled to try it on the spot (LOL).

The catchy tune and the sassy lyrics of this up-beat song written and sang by American pop singer Kaci Battaglia made me an instant fan of hers from the time I heard the song being played one time on a local radio station.

"Body Shots" is the second single of Kaci Battaglia from her second studio album entitle Bring It On (2010). News has is that "Body Shots" was featured on episode 8x02 of The CW's One Tree Hill also reached #1 on the Billboard Dance chart.

Judas! (Hudas)

Posted by iAMjett™ 7:49 PM, under | No comments

I don't know if it's just me or what but Lady G is getting to be more and more 80's these days. Though I have read reviews of her music being a  retribution slash tribute to the ageless all time icon, Madonna; still many would bash words that she's being a copy-cat (Ooopps).

So much with the Madonna-Lady G allegory, this Lady G 'Judas' music video definitely reminds me of Madonna's early days -- talk about the 80's dance steps and fashion (^_^). Nice, cool and brings forth the 80's punk sound on it, however, like Alejandro, though I like the danceable beat and strong music recall, I'm apprehensive if it's another mocking in music... I just hope it has no creepy message when this music is backmasked. ^_^

"Judas, Juda-a-a. Judas, Juda-a-a."

Most recent fact fetched: Lady Gaga is the first person on Twitter to reach 10 million followers.

A day of idiocy over '3 Idiots', but then again 'All is Well!'

Posted by iAMjett™ 1:42 AM, under , | No comments

3 Idiots (Hindi: थ्री इडीयट्स) is a 2009 Indian comedy film directed by Rajkumar Hirani, with a screenplay by Abhijat Joshi, and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It was loosely adapted from the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat. 3 Idiots stars Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, Omi Vaidya, Parikshit Sahni and Boman Irani.

Upon release, the film broke all opening box office records in India. It was the highest-grossing film in its opening weekend in India and has the highest opening day collections for a Bollywood film. It also has the record for highest net collections in the first week for a Bollywood film. Within 10 days of its release, the film crossed the 1 billion mark in India and became the first film of 2009 to do so. The film also created a new box office record for a release in the last quarter of a year (October to December), breaking the previous record set by Ghajini. It is also the highest-grossing film to be released in the second half of the year (July to December), breaking the previous record also held by Ghajini. This was broken later by the 2010 Tamil science fiction film Enthiran.[3]

3 Idiots has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in India,[4] breaking the previous record set by Ghajini which also starred Aamir Khan. The film set a box office record for the Indian film industry, grossing 339 crore worldwide.[2] It was expected to be the first Indian film to be officially released on YouTube, within 12 weeks of releasing in theaters on 25 March 2010, but never got released.[5] The film also went on to win many awards, winning six Filmfare Awards including best film and best director, ten Star Screen Awards and sixteen IIFA awards.

PLOT: Farhan Qureshi (R. Madhavan), Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi), and Rancchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad "Rancho" (Aamir Khan) are three engineering students who share a room in a hostel at the Imperial College of Engineering (ICE). Farhan is studying engineering to pursue his father's wishes over his own wish — to become a wildlife photographer. Raju is studying to raise his family's fortunes while Rancho, driven by his passion for machines and devices, studies for joy of it. However, due to this different approach Rancho incurs the wrath of dean of college, Professor Viru "Virus" Shahastrabuddhe (Boman Irani). Virus labels Rancho and his friends as "idiots" and attempts on a number of occasions to break up Rancho's friendship with Farhan and Raju. In contrast, Virus' favorite student, Chatur "Silencer" Ramalingam, (Omi Vaidya) believes in mindless memorizing over understanding, in order to reach his goals of corporate and social status. Meanwhile, Rancho also falls in love with Virus' medical student daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor) when he, Raju and Farhan crash her sister's wedding banquet in order to get a free meal, in the process further infuriating Virus.

Things further escalate when the three friends, who are already drunk, break into Virus' house at night to allow Rancho to propose to Pia, and then urinate on a door inside the compound before running away. The next day, Virus threatens to expel Raju unless he talks on Rancho. Not wanting to betray his friend or let down his family, Raju jumps out of the third floor window and ends up in a coma. Following his recovery, Raju takes an unexpected approach for an interview for a corporate job whilst Farhan decides to pursue his love of photography. The two friends succeed with their tasks and this further enfuriates Virus, causing him to come up with a plan that will jeopardize Raju's job. During this process, Pia overhears this and decides to help Rancho and Farhan by providing them with the keys to her father's office. However, Virus catches them and expels them on the spot. After that Pia angrily confronts him, denouncing him for the death of Pia's brother. At the same time Viru's pregnant elder daughter Mona (Mona Singh) goes into labour. A heavy storm cuts all power and traffic, and Pia is in self-imposed exile because of her revealing of her brother's actions. She instructs Rancho to deliver the baby in the college common room via VOIP. After the baby is apparently stillborn, Rancho resuscitates the baby. Virus reconciles with Rancho and his friends, and allows the trio to stay for their final exams.

Their story is framed as intermittent flashbacks from the present day, ten years after Chatur promised to become more successful than Rancho. Having lost contact with Rancho, who disappeared during the graduation party and went into seclusion, Raju and Farhan begin a journey to find him. They are joined by Chatur, now a wealthy and successful businessman, who joins them, brazenly confident that he has surpassed Rancho and also looking to seal a deal with a famous scientist and prospective business associate named Phunsukh Wangdu. When they find Rancho's house in Shimla, they find a completely different Rancho (Jaaved Jaffrey). From him they come to know that their friend was a destitute servant boy "Chhote" who loved learning, while he, the real Rancho, disliked study. The family agreed to let the servant boy study in Rancho's place instead of labouring. In return, the real Rancho would pocket the qualifications and after graduating, the servant boy will cease all contact. The real Rancho reveals that Chhote is now a school-teacher in Ladakh.

Raju and Farhan find Pia and arrive in Rancho’s school. Pia and the fake Rancho rekindle their love, while Chatur mocks Rancho for becoming a school teacher. He asks Rancho to sign on a "Declaration of defeat" document. When Rancho's friends ask for his real name is, he reveals that he is actually Phunsukh Wangdu himself. Chatur finds out about this and is horrified; he accepts his defeat and pleads his case with Phunsukh to establish the business relationship he was after.

Epilogue to the Remains of a Well-Loved Polygamous

Posted by iAMjett™ 4:26 PM, under | No comments

I have come to feel all the sorries from the many years spent accepting your being who you really are and still incessantly pressed on loving you beyond your tolerance to be unfaithful (multiple times). Heck to me, it seems like I just felt the poke of awakening after 5 years of knowing you (the 3 years unmentioned were nothing but plain bluffs).

To whoever will catch you and eventually know your untamed urges and erratic emotions, cliche and overrated this may totally sound but this time around, love the person beyond your careless love of exploring all other possibilities. Perhaps you were just astounded in your new world, an escape to your suppressed compulsions and delusional desires, soon enough you'll tire of it, KMY. Wish you luck! ^^

My Day of Reckoning (5.10.11)

Posted by iAMjett™ 6:46 PM, under | No comments

Striking excerpt from my early morn re-read of 'The Alchemist' :

"When someone sees the same people every day, they wind up becoming a part of that person's life. And then they want the person to change. If someone isn't what others want them to be, the others become angry. EVERY ONE SEEMS TO HAVE A CLEAR IDEA OF HOW OTHER PEOPLE SHOULD LEAD THEIR LIVES, BUT NONE ABOUT HIS OR HER OWN."

(Moot POV) On a relative context, for those people who relentlessly claim they're just speaking up their mind in social networks: We all have to say about almost anything (either point-bank crap or relevant), but I guess there are some words and thoughts we simply ought to keep on our own rather rant them over pointlessly just to get attention, whatsoever. C'mon just keep it tamed once in a while if it can't really be helped, because at one point, you're aimlessly flooding too. =p

Fil-Americans on 'Pirates'

Posted by iAMjett™ 4:28 PM, under , | No comments

“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” with its silver-screen opening across the Philippines this May 2011 includes two Fil-American actors Michael Rosales and Daphne Joy. These two are on-board with Johnny Depp in another adventure quest for the Fountain of Youth; the fourth film in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

Sources has it that Michael Ilano Rosales is a multicultural actor/rap artist/performer, who was luckily chosen to play a “pirate from the Philippines” from a pool of 4,000+ aspirants. Considered to be his first-ever acting audition, Michael takes this chance given a huge break for the Hollywood scene. His Hollywood journey would take him from his home of Hawaii, across 11,000 kilometers to London, where his scenes in “On Stranger Tides” were shot.

Daphne Joy on the other hand who came from  a humble lineage in Olongapo, Philippines counting the recent hit ‘Just Go with It’ and such popular ‘TV shows’ as ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,’ ‘Criminal Minds’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ to her credits.

It was also said that Daphne’s family moved to LA, California when she was just 8-years old, but it never made her to forget her Filipino culture and upbringing.

By the influence of her new country’s pop culture, Daphne Joy was growing up holding the attention in entertainment  along her involvement in choir, dance groups, talent shows, and even  in cheerleading. At the age of 18 she became more interested in acting, and not so long after found her self working in front of the camera.

Daphne's Pinoy raw talent was also displayed in several lists recording artists’ music videos, along with national print campaigns, commercials, magazine covers and features. Daphne will be playing the role of a mermaid in the movie.
